Red Cross announces shelter in Kent Co. for those affected by flooding

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Red Cross of West Michigan announced Thursday that they will be working to open a shelter in Kent County for those affected by flooding.
The shelter will be located at the Kentwood Activities Center, on 48th Street, and is expected to open before noon.
The Red Cross says they are currently in communication with emergency management personnel to determine where any shelters might be needed.
The Red Cross of West Michigan also offered a number of tips to prepare for possible floods.
