HASTINGS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police in Hastings were called to a local fast food restaurant on a Friday morning in late March after employees reported a customer who was acting strangely in the parking lot.
When officers arrived they were told that the man had been reaching into his sweatpants and was grabbing himself violently. He then raced into the restaurant's bathroom.
Officer found the man in the rest room and asked him what was going on. The man told them that he understood their concern and told them what happened.
The man had recently traveled to Tennessee to buy a new truck. While he was gone the person who had been watching his home had let the dogs inside the house. The dogs were infested with fleas and ticks.
The man said that as he was exiting his truck he was bitten in “his private area” by a tick and had reacted in the strange manner because of the bite. The man retrieved the insect from the restroom and showed the officers.
The officers say they did not take the evidence and let the man go in time for breakfast.
