BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – It’s been nearly four months since an eight-year-old girl was killed a house fire in Battle Creek.
Investigators say that the cause of the fire was arson, and now Newschannel 3 has learned that the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office will be issuing investigative subpoenas in the coming weeks.
The office will be bringing people in to testify under oath regarding what they know about the fire that killed Karrina Johnson.
It is not currently known how many subpoenas have been issued or who has received them.
In late November 2012, firefighters pulled Karrina Johnson from her family’s burning home on Young Street after a bystander was able to save her older brother and sister.
Karrina later died from her injuries at the hospital.
Newschannel 3 is continuing to follow this story and will bring you information as it becomes available.
