MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Federal grants are still available for people interested in boosting Michigan's fruit and vegetable industry.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture grants range from $10,000 to $75,000.
They can fund projects in areas like marketing, research, distribution and safety.
Eligible applicants include non-profit and for-profit organizations, government agencies and universities.
They must also be recognized by the IRS, be located in Michigan and show how their projects could benefit so-called "specialty" crops.
The application deadline is Friday.
