Through 8 am

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the following counties in West Michigan, effective until 8 am Friday: Barry, Calhoun, and Eaton. Pockets of freezing drizzle may make hazardous driving conditions in the Advisory area, particularly on less-traveled, rural roads. The freezing drizzle is expected to end shortly before daybreak. Because of the potential for slick spots on area roads, drivers all around West Michigan should use a little more caution on this morning's commute.

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Gas prices continue to drop across the country, including here in West Michigan.

It's something nice to wake up to on a Monday. Gas prices stayed down all weekend and are the lowest we've seen in some time. Even better, they are expected to stay down.

The average nationwide price at the pump is $3.74, but good news for drivers here in West Michigan, we are hovering around $3.55 a gallon.

This is the 11th consecutive decrease in recent weeks.

Gas is now 42-cents cheaper than the record high of $4.11 a gallon set back in July of 2008.

The Lundberg Survey says the drop has to do with a drop in crude oil prices, which are down for the first time this year.

There is even better news, the Lundberg Survey says it's predicting gas prices will drop another 10 to 12 cents per gallon in the coming weeks, so we will continue to see gas at or below this level.
