KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Kalamazoo City Commission has given the OK to the Alamo Drafthouse's plan to serve alcohol at the theater, once known as the Rave in Downtown Kalamazoo.
Last night, the commission took up the liquor license request from the Texas-based movie theater chain.
The Alamo Drafthouse serves food and liquor during its movies, and officials say the approval of the liquor license is essential to keeping the plan on schedule.
Next, it will go to the State Liquor Control Commission for final approval.
Alamo Drafthouse hopes to have the theater in Kalamazoo open sometime this summer.
