BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Tuesday night, Battle Creek City Commissioners are expected to discuss whether to join a national coalition of cities against gun violence.
The organization called Mayors Against Illegal Guns currently has more than 900 members and hundreds are expected to attend the meeting in Battle Creek.
It was started by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.
13 cities in Michigan have already joined the coalition, including Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, but not everyone is on board with the coalition.
The owner of Freedom Firearms, for instance, Joel Fulton, is upset about the idea of gun control.
Tuesday night's meeting starts at 5:30 at Battle Creek City Hall, and is open to the public.
