NEWSCHANNEL 3 – Monday is April 15th, which means it’s Tax Day.
Taxes must be in the mail before the end of the day Monday.
Many people are ahead of the game. The IRS says 97-million Americans submitted their tax forms by the first of the month.
An overwhelming majority of taxpayers are opting for the online option this year.
About 90-percent of taxes filed so far were done electronically.
The average refund is 2,755 dollars this year, which is down about 40-dollars from last year.
If you're down to the wire getting your taxes done, lots of local post offices are open late Monday to help you out.
