BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A man accused of holding a gun to his girlfrirend's head and pulling the trigger has been officially charged.

Police confirmed to Newschannel 3 that Keir Watson was arraigned Wednesday on multiple charges stemming from an incident that morning.

According to police, Watson assaulted the victim multiple times after the two had sex.

The victim alleges that at one point, Watson put a gun to her head and pulled the trigger--but it did not go off.

Police say Watson took off in a truck and led police on a high-speed chase for several blocks before he crashed, and took off again on foot.

He was quickly captured.

Watson was charged with assault with intent to murder; felony firearm, third-degree fleeing; and obstructing a police officer.

Watson is due back in court on July 30 for a pre-trial exam.
