BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A man that police say barricaded himself inside a Coldwater sex shop, holding the clerk hostage for hours, has officially been charged.

39-year-old Joseph Leiffer was charged with fleeing and eluding, two counts of kidnapping, and felony firearm possession.

Leiffer is from Carleton, in southeast Michigan.

Police say he barricaded himself inside the Lion's Den Adult Superstore Tuesday morning, while trying to get away from them.

The stand-off came to an end three hours later, thanks in part to the clerk, who convinced him to surrender.
