Spectrum ranks as one of the best in the country

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) -  A West Michigan hospital ranks at the top of the country in a new report just released Tuesday.

Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids is the number 3 hospital in the state and has 5 specialties ranked in the top of the country.

The numbers were just released by U.S. News and World Report.

They evaluated 5,000 hospitals looking at their overall care and patient satisfaction as well as 26 different adult and pediatric specialties.

Ranking the hospitals in each category.

Spectrum Health ranked 20th in the nation in pulmonology, 23rd in gynecology, 25th in diabetes & endocrinology and 49th in the country in both ear, nose and throat and gastroenterology.

Spectrum also has 7 other high performing specialties noted in the report.

We also checked out the Kalamazoo hospitals and Bronson is ranked 11th in the state of Michigan. The hospital has 8 specialties that are considered high performing.

They are Gastroenterology; Geriatrics; Nyphrology; Nuerology & Neurosurgery; Orthopedics; Pulmonology and Urology.
