BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - 30-year-old Shawn Pike is expected to be charged Thursday with the murder of 27-year-old Nicole Gates.

Police found her body early Wednesday morning at the Citgo in Bedford Township, and Pike was arrested hours later.

Another man is facing charges of being an accessory after the fact.

Long-time friends of Nicole Gates showed up at the Citgo station Wednesday night--the last spot where she was seen alive.

The mother of three, from Hastings, was killed at her job at the gas station in Bedford Township overnight.

Investigators tell Newschannel 3 that 30-year-old Shawn Pike stabbed Gates to death.

She had only been on the job for two weeks.

Her mother tells Newschannel 3 that the two were acquaintances.

Childhood best friend Megan Rayborn came by the gas station Wednesday night, to remember the woman who loved her children, tattoos, and animals.

Detectives say Gates was minutes from closing down when Pike walked in and held the store up.

After they say he killed Gates, investigators say Pike stole her car.
