WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES remain for all of West Michigan for an accumulation of snow followed by sleet and freezing rain and even plain rain.  The ADVISORIES last until 8 PM everywhere save for Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch counties where the expiration time is 1 PM.  Snowfall ranges from 1" to 3" near and south of I-96 including Kalamazoo.  North of I-96, amounts may be greater in a range from 2" to 4".  Once snow transitions to freezing rain, ice accumulations of 1/10" perhaps upwards of 2/10" are possible.  Plus, secondary and back roads are likely to remain icy even when air temperatures reach the middle 30s this afternoon.  Please be careful traveling!

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Crews are on the scene of a major apartment fire in Grand Rapids.

It's happening at 4th Street and Seward Avenue at this hour, as officials received the call around 6:00 p.m.

The Red Cross is on the scene, and tells Newschannel 3 that at least 18 people have been displaced by the fire, which started just before 3:00 p.m.

At least 10 units have been destroyed.

There are reportedly some minor injuries.

Fire officials are currently investigating claims that the source of the fire was a young boy.

Hotel rooms have been set up for all those displaced by the blaze.
