Woman has baby during traffic stop

IOWA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police in Iowa have released amazing dash cam of an unusual traffic stop.

"It started accelerating faster and faster and I was like, wow. So I turned on my lights to signal for them to pull over,” said the officer. "I had every expectation that when they said we're having a baby, that they meant there was a baby on the way and we would just drive to the hospital and I would shake their hand and say good luck.”

But that's not what happened.

Instead, when the driver finally pulled over he jumped out and said “we're delivering a baby right now!”

In a matter of moments it was over.

"And there were the head and arms and the baby was all born at that point, I think. Everybody was equally surprised, except for the baby," said the officer. 

Mom, dad, baby and officer are all doing well.
