WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - This week's Presidential Address was a little different than those that preceded it.
This week, President Obama turned the microphone over to a mother whose son was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said the only other time President Obama had someone else do the address was when he was out of the country.
The Vice President stepped in that week.
The parents used the opportunity to urge people to contact their Senators and get involved to get gun legislation passed.
