Updated: Wednesday, March 20 2013, 12:10 AM EDT
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An 18-year-old in Kentucky learned the hard way that bingo is serious business.

Austin Whaley got slapped with a second-degree disorderly conduct citation after running into a bingo hall with friends and yelling "Bingo," even though he wasn't playing.

The police officer who cited Whaley likened what he did to yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater.

Whaley is now forbidden from using the word 'bingo' for six months.Teen in Kentucky gets in trouble over Bingo shout
