Teacher accused of drugging students

CALIFORNIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A former teacher of the month in California is facing child endangerment charges after police say she drugged her young students.

Police say 59-year-old Deborah Gratz was caught red-handed crushing over-the-counter sleeping aids and putting them into some of her preschool students' drinking cups.

Gratz was fired immediately and turned over to the police.

Before Gratz was caught, her co-workers said the toddlers were “stressing her out.”

Gratz is now behind bars.
