SUV shoots at Maserati that crashes on Vegas strip

Updated: Thursday, February 21 2013, 03:00 PM EST
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police now say only people in a black Range Rover were shooting at a Maserati before a crash on the Las Vegas Strip killed three and injured several others.

Sgt. John Sheahan says investigators don't think anyone in the sports car was shooting.

Police are looking for the distinctive black Range Rover with dark tinted windows and black rims that left the scene after the 4:30 a.m. Thursday crash at the intersection of Flamingo and Las Vegas boulevards.

The Maserati crashed into a taxi that burst into flames.

Sheahan says five cars were involved. The Maserati driver, the taxi driver and a passenger in the cab were killed.

The intersection is surrounded by some of the most famous casinos on the Strip, including the Bellagio, Caesars Palace and Bally's.
