Study: Early dating could lead to poor schoolwork

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new study suggests that kids who start dating early are more likely to smoke, drink, do drugs, and do poorly in school.

Researchers from the University of Georgia studied kids from the age of 11 to the time they graduated.

They found those who dated the least did the best academically.

Researchers say it's likely because dating is an early indicator of high risk behavior.
