Sinkhole swallows golfer in Illinois

WATERLOO, Ill. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A day of golfing turned into a rescue mission in Illinois.

Mark Mihal was on the 14th hole at Annbriar Golf Course in southern Illinois when a sinkhole opened beneath him.

The pit that swallowed him was 18 feet deep and 10 feet wide.

Mihal was pulled to safety with a rope after the fall dislocated his shoulder.

He says the course is one of his favorites, but he is having second thoughts about returning now.
