Deal reached, but road funding decision to be made by voters  LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Lawmakers have reached an agreement on road funding.

The National Weather Service maintains a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in Barry, Calhoun, Eaton, and Jackson counties for freezing drizzle and slippery roads.  Freezing drizzle and some tricky spots were also observed in Kalamazoo county.  The ADVISORY expires at 8 AM, but freezing drizzle may linger until late morning.  Please be cautious, and have a safe morning commute.

School security officer's gun goes off in school

NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Parents are voicing their concerns after a school security officer's gun accidentally fired during classes.

The school says the officer was patrolling the halls when the gun discharged.

Some students say they heard a noise, but say they never felt they were in any danger.

Parents say this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

"We were all really confused and shocked. We were like, wait, what happened? How did that happen?" said one parent.

No students or staff were in the area when the gun discharged and no one was injured.

The school and police are investigating the incident. The school security officer has been suspended until that investigation is completed.
