Rabbits wreak havoc at Denver airport

Updated: Friday, February 15 2013, 10:26 PM EST
DENVER, Colo. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - They may look cute and cuddly, but some rabbits in Denver are wreaking havoc on cars parked at an airport.

Folks who work at Denver International Airport say the bunnies seem to like hanging out underneath the cars because it's warm--but that's not the problem.

They're apparently hungry too.

Wildlife experts say the rabbits like to chew on wires under the hood of the cars, causing hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of dollars in damage that most insurance companies won't cover.

The USDA Wildlife service has been called out on numerous occasions.

They remove at least 100 rabbits a month because of the issue.
