NEWTOWN, Conn. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - People in Newtown, Connecticut are outraged over robocalls from the National Rifle Association.
The calls are urging people to tell their state legislators to oppose gun control proposals, only 3 months after the deadly Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Lawmakers are currently debating whether to ban military-style assault weapons, prohibit high-capacity ammunition magazines, and other measures in response to the school shootings.
Many residents say the robocalls are insensitive, however, under federal law, the NRA is allowed to make the calls.
