New England braces for winter storm

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - New England is bracing for a major winter storm at this hour.

It is expected to dump up to 2 feet of snow in some places, starting Friday morning, and continuing into Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service reports most of southern New England could see between 18 and 24 inches of snow and meteorologists expect it to be a very powerful storm.

If everything occurs the way it is being predicted, the storm has the potential to be among the top 10 snowstorms in New England.
