N.C. billboard may be hoax

Updated: Friday, March 22 2013, 11:08 PM EDT
GREENSBORO, N.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It seems a clever revenge tool to get back at an alleged cheating spouse is actually a marketing ploy.

Social media lit up over a photo that surfaced of a billboard in North Carolina which reads:

"Michael,
GPS tracker: $250; Nikon camera with zoom lens $1600; Catching my lying husband and buying this billboard with our investment account: Priceless.
Jennifer."

The message then asks Michael to "tell Jessica you're moving in."

Now, some local news stations are reporting that the board belongs to a business owner, and a message that went up in the intervening time mentions one of the owner's restaurants in the area.

So far, the owner won't say if the whole thing was real or not.

Either way, the sign continues to stop traffic.
