Judge refuses to grant Peterson new trial

JOLIET, Ill. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Thursday, a judge refused to grant Drew Peterson a new murder trial.

The former suburban Chicago police officer was asking for a new trial on the grounds his former attorney botched the case.

He is accused of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

He's also a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, but hasn't been charged.

Peterson faces up to 60 years in prison.
