Good Friday celebrations around the world

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Friday was, of course, Good Friday, the religious holiday observed by Christians to commemorate the crucifixion of Christ.
It begins Easter observances around the world.
A Good Friday tradition played out in Jerusalem as hundreds of Christians hoisted wooden crosses and chanted prayers as they walked through the cobblestone alleyways, retracing Jesus' steps on the way to crucifixion.
The faithful then held a service in Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity, the traditional site of Jesus' birth.
There were several services planned across West Michigan as well.
