CHILLIWACK, B.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A little girl is badly scarred and traumatized after a vicious pit bull attack.
Fortunately, a pint-sized hero stepped in to defend her, or it could have been much worse.
It all started on Tuesday, when 8-year-old Jenna was outside picking up golf balls near her neighbor's house in Chilliwack, British Columbia.
That's when the pit bull burst through its enclosure and sunk its teeth into Jenna's head.
Jenna's chihuahua, Honey, then took on the pit bull, that was 10 times the little dog's size.
Honey started growling and barking at the pit bull.
It let go, and came after Honey, giving the pit bull's owner enough time to collar the dog and get Jenna to safety.
The pit bull has been put down since the attack.
Meanwhile, Jenna's grandparents say they don't blame the owner or the breed for the incident.
