Fmr. Rep Jesse Jackson Jr., wife, could face jail time

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Former U.S. Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife Sandra now face prison time over claims they misused thousands of dollars in campaign funds.

Jackson is charged with conspiracy.

Prosecutors say he spent $750,000 in campaign funds on personal expenses.

His wife Sandra is charged with filing false income tax returns from the years 2006 to 2011.

It's unclear how much time either will spend behind bars, but experts say the former Congressman could serve a few years, while his wife will likely only serve a few months in prison.
