Father in Maine finds knife in son's birthday cake

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A father in Maine says his son's birthday party was ruined by his local Wal-Mart bakery.

That's because the little boy's birthday cake had a knife inside.

Four slices into the cake, the family of the two year old says they found a paring knife inside.

Dad says they stopped the party and called Wal-Mart right away.

The store says this never should have happened, and they're now eliminating the use of this kind of knife at bakeries across the country.

The superstore also says they plan on reaching out to the family, who says "(they'll) never get their son's second birthday back."
