Congress calls for halt in FAA furloughs

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - As airport delays spread across the country, some members of Congress are calling for a halt in furloughs of air traffic controllers.
The FAA said they have no choice but to furlough all 47,000 agency employees, including nearly 15,000 controllers, for one day out of every 10 because of the automatic government spending cuts.
Some members of Congress contend that the furloughs are being used to pressure Republicans to back down on tax and budget issues.
