Updated: Saturday, March 2 2013, 11:56 AM EST
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Fire crews in Southern California are putting the brakes on a wildfire that has damaged more than 300 acres of land.

The fire broke out Thursday in the heavily vegetated Santa Ana River bottom, just an hour east of Los Angeles.

The fire has damaged a home and cut power to about 2,000 residents in Riverside County.

Currently, about 60 percent of the fire is contained, as crews expect it to be fully contained by Saturday afternoon.
