California couple returns $11K

SAN FRANCISCO (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A California couple found thousands of dollars on Valentine's Day, but instead of using the money to sweeten their romantic plans, they decided to do the right thing.

According to the Huffington Post, Carlos and Barbara Landeros were sightseeing at the Golden Gate Bridge, when they stumbled upon a camera bag.

Inside, they found more than $11,000.

The couple turned it over to police, who were able to track down the owner--a tourist from China.

He was so grateful for the couple's honesty, that he wrote them a check for an undisclosed sum.
