Bill in Tennessee would require pit bull owners to get insurance

Updated: Monday, March 18 2013, 08:53 AM EDT
TENNESSEE (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A controversial new bill is making the rounds in Tennessee.

It would require owners of "vicious dogs" to carry a minimum insurance policy of $25,000 for liability against any injuries inflicted by the dog.

The bill defines vicious as any animal belonging to the pit bull breed.

Pit bull advocates are offended, saying the problem is not with the dogs, but bad owners.
