Background check bill on its way to Senate floor

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A bill to expand required federal background checks for gun purchases is on its way to the Senate floor.

The measure comes just days before the three month anniversary of the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting in which 26 people were killed.
