PAKISTAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Officials in southern Pakistan say at least 81 people are dead and nearly 200 others are wounded after a bomb hidden in a water tank blew up in a crowded market.
Police say the bomb was detonated by remote control in a mostly Shiite neighborhood.
Many of the wounded are said to be in critical condition.
The attack was the deadliest incident since bombings in the same city killed 86 people earlier this year.
The minority shiites have been increasingly targeted for attacks by militant groups in the region, who view them as heretics and non-Muslims.
