MEMPHIS, Tenn. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – There is an alarming story out of Tennessee Thursday morning where police say a 7-year-old brought a loaded gun to school, twice.

It happened at an elementary school in Memphis.

School officials say they were tipped off about the gun on the second day the boy brought it to class. They then locked down the classrooms and confiscated the weapon.

There's still no word on where the child got the gun.

Some parents say they're upset they had to find out about it on Facebook because the school took so long to inform them.

The school says the information kept changing so they didn't want to alarm parents until they had all the facts.
