Outrage growing over Malaysia Airlines crash in Ukraine

Outrage growing over Malaysia Airlines crash in Ukraine story image

UKRAINE (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - International outrage is growing as investigators headed to the crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 continue to struggle in getting access to the wreckage.

There's concern pro-Russia militants, who are guarding the site in eastern Ukraine, have tampered with evidence since Thursday's downing that killed 298 passengers and crew.

21 more bodies were just found Monday morning. Over the weekend rescuers found 251 bodies.

They were stacked in refrigerated boxcars and moved off-site.

The U.S. says there's "powerful" evidence pro-Moscow rebels used a Russian missile to shoot down the plane.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says he supports a cooperative investigation.

A rebel leader says the bodies and black boxes will be turned over to experts.

But it appears the crash site may already be compromised.

"It is an absolutely shambolic situation. It does look more like a garden clean-up than a forensic investigation," said Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

The United Nations Security Council is expected to vote Monday on a resolution calling for a cease fire in the area and demanding that investigators be granted full access to the crash site.
