DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 10 AM

The National Weather Service issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for all of West Michigan until 10 AM.  Fog may linger in some locations until midday.  Light winds, ample moisture near the ground are encouraging the formation of dense fog.  Because temperatures are near freezing, a light coating of ice may form on some road surfaces making them slick.  Please keep it safe this morning as you head back to work and school.

Coast Guard: Wreckage of teen pilot's plane found

Updated: Thursday, July 24, 2014

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says crews have found wreckage from an airplane piloted by an Indiana teenager who was killed when he crashed during an around-the-world flight.

Coast Guard spokesman Gene Maestas in Honolulu says portions of the single-engine plane's fuselage were recovered Wednesday night in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of American Samoa.

The body of 17-year-old pilot Haris Suleman was found shortly after Tuesday's crash.

Maestes says crews are still searching for the body of 58-year-old Babar Suleman, who was traveling with his son.

Haris Suleman had hoped to set the record for the fastest circumnavigation around the world in a single-engine airplane with the youngest pilot in command.

The Sulemans left Indiana on June 19 and were expected to arrive back in the states Saturday.
