BIRDSBORO, Pa. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An old picture of a young boy reading to an orange cat has gone viral since it was uploaded to Reddit last weekend.

It turns out it's a Pennsylvania elementary school's reading program.

It's called 'Book Buddies,' and it allows children in grades 1 through 8 to read to homeless cats at the Animal Rescue League.

A spokesperson says the program helps children improve their reading skills while also helping the shelter animals.

Donations have been pouring in to the shelter since the pictures have gone viral.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Five-time "Dancing With the Stars" champ Derek Hough (HUHF) is sidelined with an injury. He didn't dance during last night's performance because of a broken toe and sprained ankle. He accidentally kicked a stage light during rehearsal last week. Hough says he's recovering well and should be 100 percent in time for the live DWTS tour this summer. Last night, his partner Nastia Liukin danced with pro Sasha Farber. They did well enough to top the judges' leaderboard. Fourteen-year-old actress Willow Shields was eliminated last night, despite being one of the judges' favorites. Partner Mark Ballas says Willow was keeping up with everyone. Next week, two celebs will be eliminated.
