New 'girls only' app stirring controversy

Updated: Thursday, February 13 2014, 11:36 PM EST
New
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Is a new 'Girls Only' app reserved for mean girls only?

Lulu allows women to rate the men they know using their Facebook accounts.

Women dish on everything from looks to personality, and even how the men are in bed, and it's all completely anonymous.

The creator says she started Lulu to provide a save, private place where girls can share--like Girl Talk for your phone.

But lawyers say the app brings up major privacy and defamation concerns.

A law student in Brazil is even suing Lulu for his low rating.

Lulu does allow men to opt out if they don't want to be rated.

AARON HERNANDEZ TRIAL

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) -- It's called "opening the door" -- and prosecutors in the trial of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez say they want permission to barge through. They've asked the judge to let them tell the jury about the time Hernandez shot a friend of his in Florida. The judge had ruled the evidence couldn't come in -- but prosecutors say the defense opened the way by suggesting to the jury that Hernandez would never shoot a friend. The defense hasn't responded to the prosecution request and the judge hasn't taken up the request yet.
