Nine-year-old runaway to stay in foster care for now
HILLSDALE COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A nine-year-old boy who went missing in Michigan for almost three days was at the center of a hearing in Hillsdale County Thursday.
The judge overseeing the case tells Newschannel 3’s I-Team that Jace Lyon will remain in foster care for now, but he is urging DHS to eventually reunite the boy with his mother.
Lyon ran away for almost three days back in January, and when he was found he accused his mother, Tonya Lyon, of being abusive, a charge she denies.
The judge says he wants to revisit reuniting Jace with his mother as soon as possible.
