Dow Chemical pushing Trump administration to scrap EPA findings on pesticides
MIDLAND, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Right now, Michigan's Dow Chemical is pushing the Trump administration to scrap findings from federal scientists showing some pesticides as harmful to certain species.
The EPA found the family of widely used pesticides are harmful to about 1,800 critically threatened or endangered species.
A letter just discovered shows lawyers representing Dow and two other companies asked the heads of three cabinet agencies to set aside the results of the government studies.
EPA regulators are close to issuing additional limits on how and where toxic pesticides can be used.
