Weeks before decision to be made on charges in Ferguson shooting

FERGUSON, Mo. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It will be several weeks before a decision is made on whether to charge the officer involved in the deadly shooting in Ferguson, Missouri.

Police say minutes after 18-year-old Michael Brown shoved a convenience store clerk and stole a box of cigars, he scuffled with Officer Darren Wilson and charged at him.

Autopsies show Wilson shot the unarmed teenager at least 6 times.

Another protest and memorial service are planned Friday night for Brown.

The major issue for protesters is race--Brown was black and the officer is white.

Marlie Hall is there with the latest.
