Texas boy raising money for hungry classmates with lemonade stand
TEXAS (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - They say everything's bigger in Texas and that can be especially true for hearts.
And the biggest heart of them all? 8-year-old Logan Henry!
"I think it broke his heart a little bit to hear that and he just instantly decided that he wanted to do something to help," said Logan's mother Stephania Henry.
"I help people very much because I am a Cub Scout and that's what I do," said Logan.
Logan found out one of his classmates was struggling and that many kids only get one meal a day.
That idea did not sit well with Logan, so he decided to start a lemonade stand to raise money for the local food bank.
He raised over $500, enough money to put almost 2,000 pounds of food on the shelves of the food bank.
Logan says he wants to continue giving to others.
"Hey Logan - what do you want to be when you grow up?" he was asked.
"I want to be a super helpful guy," said Logan.
The lemonade stand will be up and running again soon so that Logan can help more hungry children.
