Snowden offers willingness to return to U.S.
RUSSIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor currently hiding in Russia, has told Wired Magazine that he wants to come back to the U.S., even if that means prison time.
Snowden says he told the government he'd volunteer for prison, as long as it "served the right purpose."
He goes on to say the law shouldn't be a "political weapon" or scare people away from standing up for their rights.
Snowden got into trouble after he leaked several top-secret documents about government surveillance programs to the media.
