President to call on Congress to close corporate tax loopholes, pass immigration reform
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - After enjoying barbecue in Kansas City, White House insiders say President Barack Obama plans to roast Congress Wednesday for what he calls its lack of action.
The president is set to hold a news conference around noon Wednesday.
The president will call on Congress to close corporate tax loopholes, pass immigration reform and take other action instead of trying to sue him.
House republicans are set to vote and authorize a lawsuit claiming the president over-stepped his constitutional authority.
The president calls the lawsuit a political gimmick from a Congress that's done little this year and is set to take a five-week recess starting Friday.
