Parisian officials urge couples to stop putting locks on historic bridge

PARIS (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - International love is crippling a bridge in France.

Paris officials are urging couples to stop putting locks on the iconic Seine River bridges.

They say the weight from the locks is pulling the bridge railings down.

The craze--which started more than a decade ago--became a popular symbol of togetherness for couples.

Instead, they hope the lovers will post selfies with the hashtag #LoveWithoutLocks as a part of their new campaign.
