Pakistani police, protesters clash anew in capital

ISLAMABAD (AP) - Pakistani police and anti-government protesters are clashing once again as the demonstrators try to reach the prime minister's official residence in a sprawling government complex in Islamabad.

Pakistani TV is showing the protesters hurling rocks at policemen.

At the gate of the prime minister's residence, demonstrators were met by paramilitary Rangers and army troops. Since Aug. 14, they've held protests, calling on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign.
