More military advisers en route to Iraq

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - President Obama is now sending more military advisers to Iraq.

Another 130 U.S. military advisers are assessing the Iraqi humanitarian crisis.

The Islamic militants in the area--ISIS--are threatening religious minorities in the mountains, including the Yazidis.

President Obama insists the advisers are not going to fight Iraq's war, but to help with the serious situation.

"It's a very dire situation," said Yazidi Murad Ismael. "It's a genocide that's taking place against a very small religious minority in Iraq."

This brings the total of U.S. military personnel in Iraq to 705.

The War Powers Congress allows the President to give up to 775 personnel.
